CENTRE SPECIALIZING IN HUMAN RESOURCES
History and mission
Established in 1972, Mode d’emploi, a centre specializing in human resources, is an employment assistance service managed by the Association des paraplégiques du Québec. The goall of the guidance counsellors and emloyment counsellors is to guide their clients through the job-hunting process as well as to help them become independent, find employment and stay employed.
Eligibility
The Centre offers services to any adult having physical or neurological functional limitations.
Services offered to job seekers
These services, which are offered completely free of charge, as they are subsidized by Emploi-Québec, include career counselling, academic and professional information, resume writing, evaluation of working capacities, evaluation of work tolerance, referrals to potential employers, job counselling, training as well as the development of special courses such as the college certificate financial services program.
Services offered to employers
Mode d’emploi offers support to employers on several levels. Among other things, the centre can: shortlist qualified candidates who meet their manpower requirements; provide information on wage subsidy or other programs; apply for such subsidies; make the staff sensitive to the reality of persons with functional limitations; give advice on how to adapt work stations and about accessibility requirements. Mode d’emploi counsellors also offer post-hiring follow-up tailored to each client.
Partners

They are involved with various organizations and groups at the local and provincial level as well as with various ministries. Among their partners are Emploi-Québec, local employment centres, the Manpower Adjustment Committee for Handicaped Persons, the Office des personnes handicapées du Québec (OPHQ) and economic development corporations. They are also part of the Regroupement québécois des organismes en développement d'employabilité (RQuODE) network.
